BECKS ROBERTS

Becks Roberts, of Becks and The Bullets, is returning to home turf this January to kick start her latest tour, which is dedicated to her biggest musical influence, Joni Mitchell. After a successful year of gigs taking her across the country, Becks is eager to return to where it all began, and is making the trip back to the Grove Inn, the first place she was brave enough to perform one of her own songs.

After a year on the road with The Bullets, Becks, who first began singing and writing songs at just 15 years old, is back home in Hebden Bridge . It was as a budding teenage songstress that she discovered her love of Joni Mitchell, in particular her iconic album Blue. Since then, Becks has gone on to perform numerous gigs around the country, and thought it was about time she paid homage to the biggest influence in her music career.

Since forming in 2008, Becks and her band, The Bullets have been described as a magical mix of musical genres due to their innovative sounds and engaging stage shows. Becks unique performance and the bands’ sound have been described as ‘the offspring of a Blondie and Ian Dury and the Blockheads marriage.’

This gig sees Becks going solo to show her admiration for Joni Mitchell, the singer / songwriter she has always loved. Becks and the Bullets last played in Leeds when they headlined the Chapel Allerton Festival, and this solo gig at the Grove promises to be just as spectacular.
